First Novel Words for the Week (December 2025, Week 4)

First words were laid down on the novel the Sunday just gone - and, yes, at the time of prepping this post, it looks like we have a real chance of finalizing the draft for this little monster before the week is out. Will it be done before the year is gone? Well, that's a good question, but I'm only just getting back on my feet with the words, so let's just take it as it comes. There's 'would be nice' and 'recovering what we've lost and keeping it,' and the latter is more important...and still fragile. Now, words. First Words - Friday, March 21, 2025: Dark God's Demise,

  After two days of flu, I've returned to the writing desk. First words for each project, today, are posted in social as the day's work for that project is done.Today's were not as many as I was trying for, but those I achieved are collated here.   Project 1: Dark God's Demise (Day's Words: ) Raomar met twice more with the mage lord. Once at mid-week so they could update each other on the preparations being made and, once more, to travel down the mountain. Sindra was too weak to travel, so they left her mending linen for the priests and working on a tapestry. Watching her reminded Raomar of the way Xanthia had sewn in Wildejun’s temple—only Sindra did not stitch each stitch as though it would be her last. She stitched as though each stitch would protect her from the dangers from beyond the healers’ door.
