Accountability: Goals for Week Ending January 17, 2026 (January 2026, Week 2)

After last week’s hiccup, and the health-scare that followed, I’m trying a few new things that I’m not ready to talk about in full. They involve a little catch-up, a lot of forward planning, and a lifestyle shake-up that will impact my work capacity. This shake-up will lead into a habit change that will take around six weeks to establish, so definitive goals will be scarce, and global aims will take their place. To whit: 1. Re-establish a writing habit (approx. 6 weeks, around Feb 22) 2. Establish an exercise habit that slowly escalates to deal with the current health threat (approx.6-8 weeks – March 3) 3. Alter dietary habits to match also to deal with the current health threat threat (approx.6-8 weeks, around March 3) 4. Continue altering and establishing sleep habits…yes, to deal with the current health threat (approx.6-8 weeks, around March 3) 5. Work toward completing the back-list publishing cycle on all titles (approx. 4-5 months, around June 14) 6. Complete the re...

Accountability: Goals and Results for Week Ending January 10, 2026 (January 2026, Week 1)

Knowing I had one major medical appointment for a family member, and an emotionally and psychologically difficult appointment, this week, I kept the goals down to trying to publish the next three titles. There were an additional two appointments after that, leading to a third, so the week was extremely disrupted, and involved a lot of recovery time. I got one title published, caught up on some back-ground work for books and videos, and did some rescheduling…and I notice I seem to freeze up if I know there is going to be a change to schedule ahead. It’s like I’m in a perpetual state of waiting. I also find it difficult to focus on anything, and if I set myself a task, it’s the one thing I guarantee I won’t do. Of course, now I know those things are going to happen, I can actively work to overcome, but I get the feeling it won’t be easy. Add to that, the fact that disruptions to my routine…such as it is…will always lead to a period of restlessness, and an inability to settle to a...

May I Write a Novel Challenge Progress Check – May 08-14, 2025

Still on May 16, but here we are, taking stock of the second seven days of the May I Write a Novel Challenge. May 8 No challenge words; background research and notes for videos was the order of the day. Day Words: 0; Month Words: 7,348 May 9 Tried to be more social… This had consequences, and while I did more background research for my game videos, I could not break the on spectrum repercussions enough to make good words. I still got some words, however. I will have to rethink this social thing. Day Words: 376; Month Words: 7,724 May 10 Focused on updating both YouTube channels, but got some words done. Decisions had to be rethunk and followed through on. Day Words: 340; Month Words: 8,064 May 11 No words. RL stressors made a solid impact—ie dealing with medical paperwork, and attempting to be social is a tricksy business and there was internal (on-spectrum) fallout that needed to be dealt with. This cannot be allowed to continue; I have to be better t...
