Wednesday's Verse - Where Do You Live?
This week’s verse moves from an urban fantasy piece about a pixie's whose trick turns sour to an experimental poem about a chance meeting. It is taken from 366 Days of Poetry , a collection of mixed-genre poetry released in 2016. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where Do You Live? “Do you live in the hills?” he said, he did. “Do you live way up there in the rocks?” “I live in the hills,” I replied, I did, “safe in the rocks in the hills.” “Will you show me where?” he said, he did, “so that I may come calling there?” “Why don’t I come see you,” I carefully replied, “in your home in the valley below?” “But it is a long way, from your hills and your rocks,” he said, he did, he said, “and we are both here, by the stream, with our socks.” I took my washing and fled. -------------------------------------------------------------
