CM Simpson: Writer & Gamer

As you all know, Hoenn released on the weekend, so there have been new pokemon to catch. Despite getting out and about on the weekend, I've been a bit busy since Monday, so the only pokemon catching that's happened has been while out running errands. Nevertheless, there have been new pokemon to catch. Here's how we're doing so far: On Monday morning I found a shroomish (sitting under a gym beside a local walking track between two ovals),  and in the afternoon, I hatched a wurmple (from a 2k egg as we crossed the oval on the return journey home). Shroomish was really strong with attack as its best quality and the best stats ever seen, while the wurmple able to battle with the best of them, with HP as its best stat, a great attack, and strong stats. So, even doing minimum pokegoing due to assignments, study and a hefty publishing schedule, I managed to start yesterday by earning this: Of course, to earn it, my pokemon had to be knocked out of the gym for the hours to be counted, but that only means I can keep working towards being a battlegirl. This is what happens when I remember to stop at yellow gyms, feed the inhabitants, and add a new contestant, if there's space. Also what happens when I remember to give myself time to battle red or blue gyms when waiting for the bus or on the way to and from school. And yesterday ended well, too: Got to say, that last 1,000 takes forever! Finally, I get off the bus to be met by this little guy - and those black-and-yellows that came with the level-up suddenly have purpose, because I still don't have enough candy to evolve one of my own. He might not be too good at battling, but he fills a hole in my pokedex - and that's good enough for me :-) 

Yesterday was one of those busy days, where I fitted in some PokemonGo and a bit of Ingress around class, study and writing. I was very happy to capture this little fellow at a local portal, just before school pick-up: And even happier today, when I scored another one in the same location - although a third one got away after scarfing down a few pineapps and going through most of my balls. I swear, I don't want to play bounce with these guys, but they just don't get it. I didn't have a lot of time between pick-up and getting back from class, so I filled it by eating lunch and crunching through a few more portals in Operation Portal Recon. I managed another hundred and fifty or so, before I had to get back to the business of real life and responsibility, but it was a good break.
