Accountability: Progress Report March 2026, Week 4, ending March 28, 2026

Image
Don’t ask me where the week went. It was another stretch of disruptions and family illness, although it ended well, and we are all feeling a lot better for having remembered to rest, and for taking care of each other. Goals for March 2026, Week 4, ending March 29, 2026 1. complete, edit, and submit one short story submission (let's call it SHSTSub#2 for March) 2. write at least 4k on the draft for March ShSTSub#3 (while researching, because alternate history is a new genre for me); 3. Finalize the pre-nuke mark-up/edit, read-over edit (voiceless if I must), format, and pre-release for Book 5; 4. Remember to do the social media marketing for the books in promotions this month; and 5. Read at least half a book written by someone else. Goals Completed March 2026, Week 4, ending March 28, 2026 1. Did not complete, edit, and submit one short story submission (let's call it SHSTSub#2 for March) 2. Did not write at least 4k on the draft for March ShSTSub#3 (while res...

From Mack and Me: The Transporter's Favor, 3rd Edition - the Current Book-in-Formatting (March 5, 2026)

So, I've just released  Mack and Me: Arach , and I'm working on the format for the next book in the series, and I get to the part where Cutter is watching the  Shady Marie  being boarded by a werewolf hunt squad with only Rohan to greet them: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------  I watched as Rohan twisted in its grip, and lashed out, again. This time, he caught the wolf in its other leg. He missed the knee, but it was a good hit, anyway, and he was still pulling away, tearing his shirt collar out of his captor’s grip, and running at the warrior holding his dog. Cascade turned his head, and whined, and Rohan slowed, noting the long arms wrapped around the animal, the blaster protruding from under Cascade’s body. “He’s okay?” and he stopped, as the wolf nuzzled the dog’s ear. “Good dog,” it said, its words thick with teeth and gutturals. Cascade whined, and licked its nose, before going limp, again. Rohan star...

Image
The first stand-alone edition of the paramilitary science-fiction short story, Dinner and a Show, is now available on pre-order. Releasing on February 12, 2026, this short piece about a night out on the town gone very wrong takes us back into the world of Mack 'n' Me 'n' Odyssey. Look for it at you favorite on-line bookstore, or check the following Books2Read link: https://books2read.com/u/479xQ7 . What's it About? When a night out on the town ends with Mack, me and the crew in cuffs and being retrieved, I get ordered to make some mischief, but how can I do that, make sure I get Mack and the rest of his crew back, rescue Rohan, sidestep Delight, and somehow not crash us into yet another planetary surface? Mind the shuttle, indeed! How Does It Start? Mack met me the second I stepped into the teleport center, sliding in front of me and laying a hand on my shoulder. I looked down at the hand, then up at him. “We’re all supposed to be on leave,” I reminded him...
