Wednesday's Verse - Best to Shun the Mermaid's Tail

Image
This week’s verse moves from  a science fiction verse about grollups to a fantasy verse about mermaids. It is taken from 366 Days of Poetry , a collection of mixed-genre poetry released in 2016. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------   Best to Shun the Mermaid's Tail Far below where the tall ships sail, in the mermaid deep where the fish don’t sleep, beware the hungry souls that wail. If you see a mermaid’s tail, if you that wonder seek to keep, far below where the tall ships sail. Condemned, will all your efforts fail, and no profit will you reap, beware the hungry souls that wail. Do not seek the mermaid’s tail. Do not seek the treasures deep, far below where the tall ships sail. If you do your soul will ail at each tidal ebb and neap. Beware the hungry souls that wail. Wednesday’s Verse—Hunters of the Deep

Image
This week’s verse moves from an urban fantasy rhyme about trolls and bridges to a fantasy terza rima about mermaids. It is taken from Another 365 Days of Poetry , a collection of mixed-genre poetry to be released later in the year, once both collection and cover are complete. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hunters of the Deep In deepest seas the mermaids swim with joy cresting waves, and surfing spray, ’neath night sky mermaids sing their songs and with hearts do toy seeking all men who sail the great ships by, the mermaids look for sails and voice their song, luring all those who hear their haunting cry Sung both loud and sweet and the whole night long their enchantment entwines both soul and heart It takes the mind and will of good and strong Until from the tall decks they do depart plunging from the deck to the mermaids’ ploy ans’ring the call of song-spun lust and heart Soon caught in mermaids...

Just Released Wheelchair Mermaid as Carlie Simonsen

Image
Wheelchair Mermaid is now out on Smashwords , Amazon , and DriveThruFiction , as well as being distributed via Draft2Digital. It will also be available in paperback shortly, and that is being distributed via CreateSpace, so yay! All Stacey wants is a morning on the beach—okay, and maybe to surf again. Like that’s ever going to happen, but a morning on the beach, on her own, as close to the waves as she’ll ever get, again, will do. It’s just that when something swims under the jetty, and a speedboat full of dangerous-looking men arrives on the beach shortly after, she has to do something. Right? Wheelchair or not, right? And that’s when life really starts to get interesting… Wheelchair Mermaid is the fourth book in the Wheelchair Adventures series, which is based around young people getting their wheels underneath them, after they find themselves in wheelchairs.
