Wednesday's Verse - Last Minute Repairs

Unless the runner could be fixed, this evening’s delivery would be nixed, so I set out with axe and chainsaw, and skiddoo and tower and hoped that thaw would not set in at all too soon, for across the lake was the best of ash cured and stored and ready at last.
