Ingress Mission Report: CBR Tour

Image
Mission Day showed me just how unfit I've become, so, this week, I'm trying to get my walking habit back on-line - and what better way to do that, than to take on an easy mission through the centre of Canberra? Created by Resistance agent, Frostbeast, this colourful 12-mission banner walks you around the city centre, and features were as follows: Time to Complete:   The average time for each mission is around 10 minutes, although some are much shorter. If you’re taking the time to glyph-hack, capture, fully deploy, link and field, then these times will be much, much longer due the portal density of the area. Complexity:   This is a very straight-forward mission series, with easily accessible portals, but, as noted below, you should be wary of hacking portals not included in the mission you’re on. Terrain and Location Notes: Location Accessibility: You can travel to the mission area by bus, although there is plenty of parking, if you prefer to travel by car, al...

Progress Report: Week 3, June 2017

I had a bunch of things I wanted to do this week, but I’m still trying to find an even keel. Stuff got done, despite me changing things around, though, and I found my feet on Babes , but it's been slow, progress-wise.   June Progress New words produced: 6,626 Outlines and Notes: 0 Works completed: 27 (22 poems, 5 flash fiction) Works edited: 1 Covers created: 0 Works published: 0 Works submitted: 0 Competitions Entered: 0 Bloggery: 1,552 University Prep and Assignments: N/A Writing News This week, in addition to working on getting my fitness and languages back in line I returned to writing a poem and a piece of flash fiction each day. It’s a lot harder to get into this habit than I remember, but I like the unexpected turn of each piece. For the flash fiction pieces, I tend to write into the dark, not knowing what I’m writing when I lay down the first few words. The poetry is much the same, although I will often choose a poetry form if I fee...

Ingress: How to Move A Mission Medal

Image
A while back, I was doing a few single missions, when I noticed that my medals didn’t line up. Basically, where one mission mosaic had two badges on the line below it, the mission mosaic below it, had only one. This meant that when I completed a line of six, the bottom mosaics on my scanner wouldn’t line up to display their images correctly. I knew the only way to move a medal was to re-do the mission, but, damn. How many of these suckers was I going to have to repeat? Well, it turned out to be five. Five! So, I thought it might be interesting to screen-shot the process as I went along. This is what it looks like to move your mission medals around in order to realign. I needed my scanner to go from looking like this:.................................................................................................to looking like this: See the difference? In the first screen shot, there are two pieces of the sky-whale m...
