JUST RELEASED: The Science Fiction Volume of the 2014 Collection

Image
I've just released Volume 2 of my collection of short works from 2014 on Smashwords, in all formats. What's it About? A collection of flash fiction, short stories, poems and essays where science fiction explores future possibilities and tragedies, where hopes and dreams are held and lost, and where cyberware stands alongside shapeshifters and starships. The poems here either explore these futures, or are written as though they were created by someone in those futures. This is the realm of the starborn and starbound, and of futures that might never be. Where can I find Print?   At the moment you can also find the print-on-demand (PoD) at the CreateSpace store in both mass market and large print versions, but it should also be available on Amazon soon, as well.

Delay to Release of 365 Days of Poetry

Image
Well, life got interesting this week has seen me have to deal with a family member developing a spontaneous pneumo-thorax as well as resigning from my day job, so there will be a fortnight's delay to 365 Days of Poetry, while I catch up with things, and make sure I have the time to care for my family. The poetry in this volume comes in a variety of styles and genres, and is arranged in no particular order. I have played with traditional forms such as the cinquain, and worked with free-form and rhyme. I have written about the world around me, and about worlds that probably don’t exist. I have tried to write poetry from the perspective of someone in the distant future writing about a new world, and I have written poetry with fantasy themes. Welcome to the worlds in my head. Scheduled Release Date: November 15, 2014.

Just Released: C.M. Simpson: Short Stories and Poetry from 2013 - The Year Just Gone

The second volume of my annual collection of short work from the previous year is now available. This year I had enough work for two volumes and it spans the range from speculative to fantasy to science fiction to horror to urban fantasy and paranormal fantasy through a variety of poetry, flash and short fiction. Sometimes, I wonder where it all comes from; mostly, I just enjoy the ride. Last year’s anthology consisted only of the short stories and poems published in 2012. This year’s anthology consists of all the short stories and poems that I created, edited or rewrote in 2013, regardless of whether or not they have been released. The tales are taken from completed anthologies, and anthologies yet to come, from my blog, and from my notebooks. Most are published as stand-alone stories, but some are yet to be published. This year’s anthology is two volumes long. I have divided them up chronologically, according to when the stories were first created and completed. This ...
