CM Simpson: Writer & Gamer

Week 3 of November rolled on, and I missed my family, but that’s the problem with living so far away from everyone. We enjoyed their company while they were here, and then we went back to work. For me, that meant realising I really had to get November’s second release up and running. As with October, I already had the month’s first release out there, but the second to be edited, formatted and uploaded—and it needed a cover. By the end of the week, I had the cover and the first round of edits done, and was working my way through the print-on-demand edit and format. I also had a vague idea of where I was going, although I felt very tentative about it, because it was a path I hadn’t been able to pursue full-time, before. Wheelchair Mermaid is now out on Smashwords , Amazon , and DriveThruFiction , as well as being distributed via Draft2Digital. It will also be available in paperback shortly, and that is being distributed via CreateSpace, so yay! All Stacey wants is a morning on the beach—okay, and maybe to surf again. Like that’s ever going to happen, but a morning on the beach, on her own, as close to the waves as she’ll ever get, again, will do. It’s just that when something swims under the jetty, and a speedboat full of dangerous-looking men arrives on the beach shortly after, she has to do something. Right? Wheelchair or not, right? And that’s when life really starts to get interesting… Wheelchair Mermaid is the fourth book in the Wheelchair Adventures series, which is based around young people getting their wheels underneath them, after they find themselves in wheelchairs.

Last week, work continued on Babes in London and Freeman’s Choice . I also got into some editing and formatting for Ellie Moonwater’s July release. All in all, it was a pretty busy week, and I didn’t get to spend a lot of time on any new writing. I’ve noticed my fitness and language study have gone by the wayside, so I have to get those back on track—which is one of the reasons I’m posting this report late, as I started this Sunday. I’m discovering that getting stuff done isn’t difficult, but getting a bunch of different bits of stuff done across the board is harder. Languages and exercise are a daily commitment, as it writing, and the other everyday chores. It’s not easy to fit them all in and have a reasonable balance of life. That’s the tricky part. I should be somewhere close by the time the last semester of university kicks in. Hopefully, this time, I’ll be able to maintain it despite the uni commitments.
