CM Simpson: Writer & Gamer

Well, it ended 12 days ago, but I think I’ve made my 300. It was surprisingly more difficult than I thought it would be, but it’s done. The only problem is that I’m really going to struggle to get another batch of badges in a similar time-frame ever again… unless I move cities—but that’s a problem for another day. Days 16-19 I couldn’t get out to any new mission or portal areas, so I contented myself with walking around one of the local lakes. My ankle started hurting on Day 17, so I rested Day 18, and walked it again on Day 19. I’ve walked this lake several times, before, so there were no new uniques, but I made a lot of AP over these three days, but capturing, deploying, linking and fielding as much as I could from each portal I passed. There are a lot of portals around the lake. It was an interesting learning experience on how you can build up AP by micro-fielding, and taking advantages of keys you hold further out—very satisfying, although I doubt the Enlightened agents...

Day 13 Day 13 saw me finish the adventure series this challenge had caught me in the middle of, and then head down to the Tuggeranong town centre the Tuggeranong town centre. It was an unfamiliar area, so I enlisted the aid of a series of 6 adventures to try and make sure I didn’t miss any portals, but got very confused between adventures two and three, and went to work methodically to make sure I picked up as many portals as I could before heading home. Well, sometimes real life has to take precedence, so the house and yard have been tidied and inspected, and the sick child looked after, but Monday, I was out and about again. This time it was to walk up a small mountain for the next mission in delta284’s Explore Canberra mission series—and then to walk back down the mountain for another mission exploring some of the parts of the Australian War Memorial I’d never really stopped to visit. Again, I was astounded by the beauty and thought put into this place, where our dead and history are honoured… I’ll be going back, again. These are the badges.   They really don’t do the Memorial any justice, so I took a few pictures to give folks a better idea.   This incredible place tries to ensure that none are forgotten, and we should do the same.
