The Writer Reads Flash Fiction - And a Flash Fiction Response from the WiP

Image
Things have been progressing slowly over on my writer's channel on Youtube, however, this short reading came out today.    Nothing survives in a vacuum, however, and yesterday, when I was editing it, I had a follow-on piece come to mind. Slated to appear in Another 366 Days of Flash Fiction, the next collection of flash, this draft piece looks at what came after the events in the reading. Recruitment in Recovery Conway came to see me himself. After I’d refused to respond to his recruiting center’s invite…and ignored his emails, texts and calls. Seems there’s only so far you can move when you’re in the tank, and the client is one of your company’s major funding points. “Any reason you don’t want to hear what I have to say?” he asked. The man was straight to the point, I’d give him that. I just stared at him. There’s something to be said for regen tanks, but privacy isn’t part of it. At least he kept his eyes on my face. “I did make sure I got you into the car,” h...

Available for Pre-Order: Mack 'n' Me: Odyssey Omnibus #1

Image
Now that all the individual titles in the Mack 'n' Me 'n' Odyssey series are available for purchase or pre-order, I'm concentrating on getting the omnibus collections out for those of you who like to pick up your series in sections or all at once. There will be three collections: one for Books 1-3 ( Origins, Blaedergil's Host, and Arach ) , one for Books 4-6 ( The Transporter's Favor, Wolves of Alpha 9, and Diplomacy 101 ), and one containing all 6 books. While the first two collections will be available in ebook form on all platforms, I'm still deciding whether this will be the case for the 6-book collection, which may be available on all platforms except Amazon, due to some of the restrictions in place there. I need to think on that some more. This First Collection - What's Changed? The first collection, Mack 'n' Me: Odyssey Omnibus #1 , gathers the first three titles - Origins, Blaedergil's Host, and Arach - under one title , a...

Yesterday's Words #6 - Andromeda's Pledge #1

The day before yesterday, I started a work-for-hire (WFH) project, so my routine got adjusted - which I always find hard to adapt to. So, the day before yesterday, I managed 2,000 words on what I will call WFH01. I can't share any of those. Yesterday, I reached my word minimum for that project (4,000) and then fitted in another 2,000 words on Andromeda's Pledge . Here are some of them: Words from the 10th: Andromeda's Pledge (Chapter 7):  Back on the command deck, her father bowed his head as the crew briefly applauded. “Nice work, Adriksson. Now, inform the ship we are jumping and strap down.” “Yessir,” Stanik replied, hearing the captain speaking to the pilot and engineers as he did as he’d been asked. “Ready?” Poulsson asked, as he finished the broadcast. “Ready, sir,” came the steady answer. As the pilot and engineers started the warp, the captain’s eyes drifted to his console, and the image of the skyfighters still pursuing them. Two of the small craft w...
