New Cover - Mack 'n' Me: The Transporter's Favour

Image
Just dropping by to share the (completed) new cover for Mack 'n' Me: The Transporter's Favour . Abby hauled me off the ship before Tens had a chance to stop her—and that’s okay, because I already owed Abs a favour. In fact, it was better than okay, because it showed us how much trouble we hadn’t known we were in. But going against the Star Shadow hunt pack? Nullifying their contract to keep ourselves unchained and at large? That was gonna be something else entirely. Mack ‘n’ Me: The Transporter’s Favour is the fourth science-fiction novel set in the Odyssey universe . NOTE: The main character swears like a sailor, and the support cast aren’t much better. If swears bother you, this this story may not be to your taste.

Yesterday’s First Words for the Day—June 28, 2018

Completely forgot to post yesterday’s first words. Here they are: Mack ‘n’ Me: The Transporter's Favour I surprised myself by actually falling asleep, woke to Abby’s gentle mind-touch, just before Delight tapped me on the feet. “Time for training,” she said, and there was no mention of the meal I’d missed. There was a ration bar, though. Quick energy and slow release nutrients to take us through to the evening meal—and if the medics thought it wasn’t enough, they didn’t say anything. Scarpil walked beside me as we headed out the door. He didn’t speak, but there really wasn’t much to talk about. We had training—and we’d have training tomorrow… and maybe the day after that. Whatever, right? It made me glad I wasn’t part of Delight’s regular squad of mischief makers, and wish for the days when Mack was handing me yet another impossible assignment that he probably hadn’t told me enough about. Delight glanced over her shoulder, and smirked at me, bu

Uploads to the National Library of Australia

Image
Part of the Australian Copyright Act of 1968 requires Australian authors to upload a copy of their published work to the National Library of Australia within a month or so of releasing it. I got sick and fell behind, but spent a few hours catching up on this obligation last week. These are the titles that have been uploaded to the National Library of Australia’s ebook catalogue, and they are available for access from the library only.

Last Week’s Release—Mack ‘n’ Me: Arach

Image
I think I forgot to mention that I released the third book in the Mack ‘n’ Me ‘n’ Odyssey series: Mack ‘n’ Me: Arach . It’s available direct from Amazon , Smashwords , DriveThruFiction , Google Play and Kobo , and via Smashwords and Draft2Digital distribution. More links can be found at Books2Read . Nothing ruins a good cup of kaff than a spider teleporting on board… and these were in the six-foot-business-suite-and-tie range, carrying blasters and a sense of entitlement like you wouldn’t believe. They gave me a job to do, and held my ship hostage while I went to do it—and *that’s* when everything went all to Hell. Exactly how I’m gonna get us out of this one, is a mystery to me. First step, though, is to bust Mack and the ship right out of their eight-legged claws. Piece of cake. Right? Mack ‘n’ Me: Arach is the third science-fiction novel set in the Odyssey universe . Cutter is running with Mack and his merry band of space-faring freelancers, and, outside the occasional

First Words for the Day—June 27, 2018

After forgetting yesterday’s first words, I did not want to forget today’s—although I did leave them until after dinner, so I wouldn’t be distracted by social media and would settle down to work. So far, I’ve got in another couple of thousand, for which I’m very grateful—and the first words kicking off the day were as follows:   Mack ‘n’ Me: The Transporter Favour As if she could still hear me, Delight was in my head. ‘We found Mack,’ she said, like I should care while I was on my knees hurling every single item in my stomach into the corridor… the working-warship-busy corridor.   ‘Sorry, Wanderer , Siobhan. Sorry.’ The ship’s response was oddly comforting. ‘You’re not the one who needs to be sorry,’ she said, her tones pissed-off precise. ‘Now, go study the files. I’ll get this cleaned up.’ The files? What… Oh. Hey, these were really good. ‘Cascade fetched them.’ ‘Cascade is a very good boy!’ ‘Wuff.’
