CM Simpson: Writer & Gamer

Why PokeGo? I like walking - and I like playing games while I do. I like Pokemongo because I don't have to have my head down in the phone to play, so I get to see the birds and say hi to folk I meet on the track - and, apparently, walking is good for me. Go figure. What I hate is actually heading out the door. Having gamer goals  makes that a little easier. I can do it without the extra incentive, but I'm really glad I don't have to. The other thing gaming while I walk does, is to help me break the cycle of going over things that make me depressed. It's hard to stay in a depressive thought cycle when your phone buzzes, and there's a new pokemon on the screen, or an old one, or a raid starting up nearby, and then there's always something happening in the way the game works. Another relatively easy one to earn, but it takes time. Main tip? Feed Them All. Well, okay, it's a bit more like this: Only the berries you feed to a pokemon in a gym count. You can only feed berries to pokemon in a gym that belongs to your team. You can feed up to a maximum of 10 berries to each pokemon. You can feed any pokemon that belongs to a team member, as well as your own. You can feed your team's pokemon from home, as long as you have a pokemon in the same gym - as last week's post showed. It's interesting, but really annoying if you accidentally feed a golden razzberry to a pokemon in a gym... just sayin'. Sometimes, not having a berry on hand to help catch a pokemon is also annoying - especially when you've just fed all yours to your team's pokemon - so think about that before you go all out stuffing their faces; the medal is pretty, but catching stuff is cool, too. Well, two days ago, I managed to catch my 200th fairy-type pokemon, and today I managed to hatch my 200th fire-type pokemon. That's not a bad week - even if I still can't participate in raids. The hatchling that became the 200th 'catch' was this houndour. It turned out to be 'one of the strongest', having HP as its 'best quality', a great Attack and Defense, and the 'best stats' ever seen. Love being Team Yellow. Go you flaming ball of darkness!

Finally, caught my 200th fairy-type pokemon - a marill. Now to work on evolving the biggest, meanest - can they even be mean? - azumarill possible... right after I work my way through the eevee.

On Tuesday, I managed to advance one of the new PokemonGo medals - the Berry Master. This is most definitely not to be confused with a stair master, although exercise was had while earning it. With silver under my belt, I now have to do another 900 or so feedings to get to gold. Tips on going for this medal? Feed ALL the Pokemons. ALL OF THEM. As many as you have berries for. As many as the game allows. And count your fingers. These things have no manners when it comes to berries.

I had a bunch of things I wanted to do this week, but I’m still trying to find an even keel.
