Wednesday's Verse - Conversing with the World

This week’s verse moves from  a science-fiction series of haiku about ships leaving for the stars to a series of experimental verse about human communication. It is taken from 365 Days of Poetry, a collection of mixed-genre poetry released in 2014.

Conversing with the World

Prat the kak,

chew the fat,

talk to colleagues and your friends.

Meaningless prattle,

to tell tales or tattle,

kids to each other, and each to themselves

in a time where words are a means to an end.

Spinning shit,

talk a bit,

drop me a line,

come chat any time,

conversing with the world.

You can find the first two poetry collections at the links below - although there are plans to reissue them with more genre-appropriate covers in the future. The third collection will be released later in the year.
