WiP: Another 366 Days of Flash Fiction - Modern Tools

One of the pieces flash for the next collection - aka a technological approach to vampire incursions as 55-word microfiction:

Modern Tools

The vampires came at midnight, when the moon was covered by clouds.

Claire watched them arrive and let them enter, then lined them up as they came through the door.

The crossbows were deadly when unexpected, but the drone-mounted flamethrowers made her laugh so hard her controller shook.

By dawn the vampires were already ash.
