Carlie's Chapter 3 - Dear Tiger: Help Me Find My Sisters

LAST WEEK, Tiger revealed he was safe, but that he wasn't going to join Simone until he couldn't help her more by being in the lab. This week, Simone says she's worried that something infected her team in FedExplore's Sharvin complex... and that it might have infected the ship she's on.

Chapter 3 (Extract) – Something's Not Right

Dear Tiger,
You take care, yourself.
I miss you.
I hope Odyssey let you come join us, soon. I mean, we eventually have to be allowed to meet, right? They can’t keep us apart, forever.
I’m glad you’re doing what you’re doing, because we’re not sure which way to jump—and I mean that literally. There wasn’t just one ship; there were two, and then they met up with another two, who were sitting not far off the warp points.
They must have come in really slow for us not to be able to detect them—or maybe the orbitals were waiting for them to radio in. I don’t know. No-one’s taught me the comms protocols for entry into a new system. I’ll add that to things I need to learn.
How about you, Tiges? Do you know the protocols?
Actually, forget that. I wanted to ask you if you were able to do a system search and find out who the ships were, and if they’ve turned up anywhere else, yet. We’re following the ion trail of the first one, through Point Karam, and I have homework of my own to do.
I have to find out everything I can about the system it leads to. And they’ve got me back to doing school work, too. So, it’s research the Point Karam warp destinations, keep up with the day’s lessons—and try to get ahead, in case we need you—and don’t skip the team work-outs, or you’ll be too fat and slow to keep up with us.
That last bit was a direct quote. Did I ever tell you how mean these guys were?

The complete series is available as short, individual ebooks, and will become available as an omnibus, later this year. In the meantime, you can find them on this blog, until one week after the last chapter in the last book of the series has been posted, at which point this series will be taken down, and a new series serialised on site.
