The Dead Do Not Live
“The Living Dead”. It’s a term I wouldn’t use. They’re just “dead” to me, too dead to realize they shouldn’t still be walking. I kill every single one I can find.
I’ve seen some who think the dead live, that there’s still some spark of consciousness inside those rotten heads. I’ve watched them die at their loved one’s hands, or put them down when they’ve returned. Davey was one, Hilda, another.
Davey thought his mum had just woken up from her fever. He took her breakfast. Didn’t work out what was going on until she’d knocked the coffee from his hands and torn out his throat. I took her out as she began to feed, and then I made sure he didn’t rise.
