Cover Evolution - A Journey through the Dear Tiger Series

Image
So, it's Friday. I've got the flu and writing is problematic... creative writing with good words, not this kind of report-style writing. This and I need to stay awake to mind the podling so I need something light to do. I was going to update some covers, but when I went to take a look at them, I discovered I'd already done it - so I thought I'd take a moment to look back at the different evolutions these covers had gone through to reach their latest iteration. These latest editions will be going up for pre-order over the next week or so...and I'll be releasing three-book omnibuses of them as well. They'll be released a month apart. with each omnibus being released the month after the final book that will be included in it. Also, I will gradually be removing the chapter content from the Dear Tiger posts , as well, starting from Monday, January 10, 2020... today, so, in future, these will work like my Tuesday Shorts - which are short stories I have on sale t...

Wednesday's Verse - Je Suis Charlie

Image
This week’s verse moves from a cautionary poem celebrating the New Year to a verse inspired by the unity that came out of the Je Suis Charlie terror attacks of 2015. It is taken from 366 Days of Poetry , a collection of mixed-genre poetry released in 2016. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------   Je Suis Charlie Je suis Charlie. Je suis Charlie! Je suis Charlie. And damn the world to hell! We must all unite despite the plight that sent us to our knees. They called for us by name. They called us from our lives. And they murdered us in cold blood because of their souls’ plight. They killed us for what we drew, and all the things we wrote. They killed us in their Allah’s name for the things we said. They claimed we did defame the prophet that they followed, a man that’s long been dead. And they were not the only ones, who cried o...

Carlie's Chapter 5 - Dear Tiger: Let's Go A-Hunting

Image
LAST WEEK, Tiger revealed he'd discovered where Simone's parents were, and that she wasn't going to like it. This week, Simone has more worries... like just how far the stuff that infected her might have spread. Chapter 5 (Excerpt) – Sharvin, Haskell & Thinking It Out Dear Tiger I cannot believe my parents went back to Sharvin. And that Odyssey let them. Bodyguards aside, what does the company think it can do to keep them safe? And I don’t’ just mean from the aliens; I mean from FedExplore and Redstone, too. Also, who’s Redstone? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The complete series is available as short, individual ebooks, and will become available as an omnibus, later this year. In the meantime, you can find them on this blog, until one week after the last chapter in the last book of the series has been posted, at which point this series will be taken down, and a new series s...

Wednesday's Verse - Hopes for the New Year

Image
This week’s verse moves from a Christmas acrostic about Santa's Homecoming to a cautionary poem about hopes for the New Year. It is taken from Another 365 Days of Poetry , a collection of mixed-genre poetry released in 2019. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hopes for the New Year Happy New Year! My head is exploding. I drank all the punch and my mind is eroding, or is it that I had red wine and champers, to go with a dinner that came from a hamper as we picnicked away up on the hill watching the fireworks from the sky earthward spill Or maybe it was the beer and the pasties I ate for my lunch while I got ready to party for New Year’s Eve is bigger than Christmas as we stay up ‘til midnight and to hell with the aftermath! Happy New Year My head is exploding My hopes riding high, drowning out my forboding that last year was hard, the year before was mu...

Tuesday's Short - The Depredides Dance

Image
This week’s short story takes us from an urban fantasy setting where a trapped soul seeks freedom to a short piece of science fiction adventure. Welcome to The Depredides Dance . All I had to do was disappear. That was it: disappear and stay out of sight. Hard enough with Abs running an auction for the last location she left me, but then I poked the Depredides communications network—and everything else looked downright easy… I’m not even sure there is a way out of this… The Depredides Dance is a stand-alone short story set in the Odyssey universe. However, if you’re into reading things in order, it tells the story of what happened to Cutter after the end of Mack ‘n’ Me: Origins , and thus forms story 1-1 of the Mack ‘n’ Me ‘n’ Odyssey series. NOTE: The main character swears like a sailor, and the support cast aren’t much better. If swears bother you, this this story may not be to your taste. The Depredides Dance is available as a stand-alon...
