Progress Report: November 2017 Wrap-up

Well, I seem to have drowned you in pokemongo reports over the last few days, so by now you must be wondering just how serious I am about this writing business. I'm very serious, but I use Pokemongo – and Ingress – as motivation for my fitness regime. They get a run, when I go for a walk, or when I run errands, and very rarely does either game choose when that is – and only when I know I have everything else nailed down. Walking, on the other hand, is essential to my health, which is essential to me being able to write, and I’m trying to ensure I do it every day – a bit like taking vitamins, only much more time-consuming.
This week, I managed to walk every day, in spite of trying to give myself a day off on the last day of November. Tomorrow, things might get a bit dicey with the severe weather front that’s moving across, so we’ll have to play that one by ear, but, today, I walked before the storms were due to arrive.
This month, it's taken a bit of time to get my feet under me, as I found moving from student to writer a pretty big change, but I think I have my head wrapped around it, now. It was a matter of scheduling in a work day, even though I work at home. After that, things got a lot easier.
Sunday, I sat down and worked out a publishing schedule, so not a lot of writing got done, but by Monday I was ready, with a clear work schedule and some concrete tasks for each day. It took a little bit of getting used to,but the week settled into a routine that allowed me to balance the different projects that make up next year's schedule.
I have to admit, I’m pretty pleased with the results, even if November’s Week 5 only consists of 5 days because the end of the month has arrived – and that’s nowhere near as short as my first week of December is going to be. That's only 2 days long, including today, because that’s all that are left in the week. As you can see from the results below, working out what I was doing and where I wanted to go, and then setting up a work schedule, has made a world of difference, with over two thirds of the new words produced this month, being produced in the last four days. To be honest, I'm a little stunned. I hadn't realised I'd written that much.
