Starlit

Written on April 22, 2015, for 366 Days of Poetry, this verse draws its inspiration from the beauty of an autumn day, and the promise of distant stars.

Bright sunlight,

warmth in the cold wind

from the nearest star.

Silver sparkles,

ever bright,

pin-prick lights,

a distant promise

of things to find,

once we leave behind

the world to which the starlight shines.
