Rose-Thorn Fairies

Written on February 1, 2014, this piece first appeared as the January 30 entry of 365 Days of Flash Fiction. It explores another fragment of the pixie-dust world.

 Roses are the home of thorn fairies—prickly by name, prickly by nature, but good-hearted folk, nonetheless. The pixies did their best to keep the war from the conservatorium in the grounds of Old Parliament House, but the thorn fairies brought it there themselves.
