Yesterday's Words #5 - Andromeda's Pledge #1

Long day, yesterday - and a difficult one, but the words got done, albeit on one project.

Here you go:

Words from the Seventh:

Andromeda's Pledge (Chapter 6):

The ‘General Broadcast’ screen returned, and was replaced by a black screen with white letters. It read: Communications channel closed. Emergency use only.

“Well, that’s hardly ideal,” Casilia murmured, wondering how Ivan was going to let her know when he’d found Kimmie.

She’d barely finished speaking, when Captain Poulsson’s face replaced the black screen.

“Mrs. Adriksson?” he began.

“Yes,” Casilia acknowledged, wondering who else he’d expected to find in her pod. She waited for him to continue.

He paused for a few seconds, and then spoke.

“I’m sorry, but we’ve been forced to call off the crew search for your daughter. She’s not visible on the security feeds, so we assume she’s in an enclosed space somewhere. As soon as things settle, we’ll do a ship-wide scan for life-forms to find her. I can’t do that at the moment as those teams or sections weren’t scheduled to be brought on-line until after we’d warped. I am sorry.”

“So am I,” Casilia told him, turning to inspect the exit on her pod.

“I’m afraid we’ve locked all pods down, until further notice,” he informed her. “This way we’ll know where everyone is.”

“Except for my daughter,” she told him, her voice cold.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that's all from yesterday. I'll catch you all tomorrow.
