Caution’s Cry

Written on July 26, 2015, for the April 11 entry of 366 Days of Poetry, this is a verse of mostly ‘found’ poetry, with randomly rolled lines taken from verses in 365 Days of Poetry, altered only slightly.

Generations of breeding have wrought him,

di mana kabar?

We’ve let go of all that we’ve taught him,

raging infernos of gold fever and treasure lust,

so that somewhere beyond the sky,

within warm shadows it lies,

but I do not hear it:

caution’s cry.
