Poetry Challenge - Introducing the Acrostic Form 5: The Multiple Acrostic Type 2
Another form of multiple acrostic is formed when the first and last letter of each line of the acrostic forms the same word… or not, as the case may be. When the word is repeated, this form of acrostic is also known as a double acrostic.
Down the wind currents, comes the scent of those doomeD
Rallied by greed’s call, they chose to ignore the warning roaR
And went in search of riches long entombed, ignoring danger’s aurA
Gone are the fine knights in their armor, the quick-fingered thieves
who moved like lightninG
Only those who ran might still escape, might, but that depends on
just how far they gO
Noon comes and so the exits, cold and vengeful for the intrusion;
death comes sooN
Why don’t you give it a try? Try writing at least one double acrostic
for each day of this week.
